Seven Wedding Planning Tasks you can Complete from your Couch
From seating charts to your personalized mood board, feel free to work on these essential tasks with a glass of wine on the couch…
1. Retail Therapy: Wedding Registry
Whether you’re looking to complete your home with the best from Anthropologie Home or finally get those items you have saved in your Amazon cart, take the time to create a registry that is both practical and exciting for you and your partner. If one retailer doesn’t offer everything you need, take advantage of The Knot’s online database to curate a registry from multiple retailers.
Pro Tip: The earlier you create your registry, the better! This gives your friends a personalized gift list they can use as a guide for any celebration along the way (from the engagement party to the bridal shower).
2. Create your Seating Chart
Even if your guest list is still not 100% finalized, take advantage of this time to think about the logistics of your seating chart. Think about how you’d like to set up the head table, consider what friend groups might want to stick together, and take into consideration the people that might not prefer to sit at the same table. Wedding Wire offers a simple online application to create the perfect seating chart–but if you’re more of a tangible thinker, feel free to use cut-out names on a table top.
3. Update your Wedding Website
Having a wedding website is the best, most efficient way to keep your guests up to date with everything related to your special day. From the wedding registry to travel and accommodation details, browse the beautiful (and free!) online templates by Joy, Minted, and The Knot.
4. Design your Invitations
Take a look through Pinterest and decide what you want your perfect wedding invitation to look like. Whether it’s a simple and classic or has a special personalized touch (or both!), use this time to dream up the first introduction your guests will have to your wedding. Do yourself a favor and give yourself a couple of days to gather the addresses of your guests on an Excel sheet.
One of our favorite invitation sources is Minted! With thousands of designs and options, you can for sure find one that fits your style and budget! And guess what, use our discount code WEDPLGOOD for 35% off your save the dates and 25% OFF all wedding items!
5. Play with Pinterest: Perfect your Mood Board
If you don’t already have a collection of pins for wedding inspo, start making a Pinterest Mood Board for yourself that you can show to your wedding planners! Wondering where to start? Scroll through our For The Good Pinterest account for our favorite wedding-inspo posts.
6. Curate the Playlists for your Wedding Day
Your DJ will thank you for this! Aside from the most important songs of the day (down the aisle, first dance, etc.), take the time to curate special playlists for the pre-ceremony, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and the final dance party. If playing DJ isn’t your personal forte, search up wedding playlists on Spotify and pick your favorite songs from the different playlists.
7. Vows
Writing your wedding vows can be a daunting task, but the key to writing personal and meaningful vows is to take the time to reflect. Stay tuned for a more in depth guide to writing your wedding day vows.
