5 Couple Goals to Make 2021 the Best Year Ever
Yes, you’ve heard of #couplegoals and of course, you may have goals for yourself, but we especially love thinking about having shared goals with you and your significant other to make each other feel even more appreciated and loved in the next year.
When it comes to resolutions, we think the best ones are small but significant little ways to improve your life; and what better way to stay accountable than to loop in your significant other! We adore the idea of making monthly goals to take the time to stop, appreciate, and grow with each other.
A Once-A-Month Elaborate Date
...And when we say elaborate, we don’t necessarily mean fancy or expensive. Think of 12 date ideas that take a little more planning or time than a usual weekend date: like having a wine and cheese sunset picnic at your favorite park, setting up your own beer, wine, or ice cream tasting at the house, or ordering in your favorite takeout and set up a cozy little seating area in a place that is anywhere but somewhere you usually eat. Write the 12 ideas out and vow to do one of them a month (in addition to your normal dates, of course).
Culinary Curation
2020 was a year of culinary exploration, and even if you’re new to cooking, the popularity of quick how-to recipe videos on Instagram and Tik Tok can open your culinary repertoire to new levels (lately we’ve been loving the recipes by @dashofmandi, @fitmencook, and @erinnobrienn). Take the time to search up some yummy recipes you’d like to try, and pencil it in to try on your calendar. If you want to be extra proactive, write the ingredients on a post-it and make it easy for yourself to grab all of the ingredients whenever the week comes up.
Dream Up (and Invest in) a Getaway Trip
Surely there has been a destination that you and your significant other have been dreaming about for the past year–so why not take steps towards making that a reality? Set out to put away money each month into a travel fund and really plan out the details of your trip. Calculate how much it’s going to cost to have your perfect itinerary and set out a goal to have that amount of money by the time you leave.
If we’ve learned anything from the past year, it’s that ensuring that your travel purchases are refundable or changeable is so important–just in case you need to push back or replan your trip.
#Fitness Couple
We’re not talking about outlining a 7-day, year-long workout plan, but we are encouraging you and your love to find a new little workout activity that you both can do together throughout the week (and maybe add to your current fitness routine). Whether it’s taking a nightly walk around the neighborhood, picking up badminton, or finding a vinyasa (slow stretching yoga) to do at the end of the day, there are so many ways to get moving together that will leave you two feeling accomplished and refreshed.
Lean on Me
It’s daunting to share your personal goals, but sharing them with your significant other is a great way to keep both of you accountable and on track to complete them. Make a list of three goals that you want to accomplish throughout the year, and promise to help each other complete them by the end of the year. We love a supportive duo!!
