What's In Season: Lemons!
Introducing “What’s In Season!”
Seasonally inspired sips and sweets to help elevate your wedding menus and add the perfect touch to your day. Each month we’ll be highlighting a primary ingredient that is typically in season during that time of year! We’ll be sharing a signature cocktail recipe alongside a tumtum wedding cake that incorporates the month’s seasonal ingredient!
We’re kicking off our "What’s In Season" series with the tangy, bright, and endlessly refreshing lemon! Known for its versatility and vibrant flavor, the lemon is a true winter gem that deserves its moment in the spotlight—and what better way to celebrate its brilliance than weaving it into your wedding day?
Lemons are a wonderful winter fruit, effortlessly available year-round, but when harvested at their peak in winter, they are at their best—bright, tart, and delightfully floral. As Tessa, founder of Tum Tum, so beautifully shares, “Lemons are a wonderful winter fruit that are easily available all year. However, when picked at peak season they are bright, tart, & wonderfully floral.” This makes them a perfect muse for weddings, adding a refreshing touch to your special day and infusing your event with cheerful, sun-kissed vibes.
Lemon-Inspired Cake & Cocktails
The centerpiece of our January inspiration is a Lemon Chiffon Cake, layered with Meyer lemon curd and topped with salted sweet cream buttercream. This cake is a showstopper, marrying the citrusy brightness of lemons with the luxurious creaminess of buttercream for a perfectly balanced bite. The Meyer lemons bring a hint of sweetness to complement the tartness, making this dessert an unforgettable treat for your guests.
Pair this stunning cake with our signature Bourbon Lemonade cocktail. This drink beautifully complements the cake’s flavors with its refreshing tang and a touch of warmth from the bourbon—a perfect choice for a winter celebration. Here’s the recipe for you to try yourself!
