Meet Richel: Our fountain of ideas, the creative genius behind all things for the good, and Our very own Founder and principal planner! Stay tuned as we share a little bit more about our wedding planning team leading up to our 10th (yes 10th!) anniversary.
Favorite moment on wedding day?
I love when my couple gets on site and wants to see the reception details. I always have so much fun walking them through the design and seeing them get so excited about all the little details we have been planning together. It makes me so happy to see them in love, enjoying the day, and seeing all their dreams come true!
What would you say is your own strength as a planner?
I can see the full vision from the very beginning. I love talking with our couples, learning their love story, their style, and their vision. And from the early conversations, I can already start to see all the elements come together and know what vendors I need to pull together to turn that vision into reality.
Favorite Hawaiʻi wedding venue?
I love the views at Paliku up at Kualoa Ranch- that will always be one of my favorites!
Design must?
Upgraded chairs! I always advocate for investing some funds for getting your dream chairs for your reception design! It makes all the difference in tying in the look and feel of the design, and bonus- your chairs will inadvertently end up in a bunch of reception photos, so you for sure want them to be cute!
Favorite memory at FTG?
I love that whenever we travel as a team, we’ve made a tradition of picking out themed movies that fit the vibe of the trip and we have little movie nights in our hotels. And if we have a free day on the trip, we often end up picking a reality show and binge watching it together spending the day laughing, chatting, and just being with one another.
Guilty pleasure?
I will find any reason to treat myself to a Starbucks!

Mina’s Fish House at Four Seasons
Favorite movie?
This one’s hard! It’s a tie between Time Traveler’s Wife and Sleepless in Seattle!
What is _____'s strength as a planner?
Monique: She is our logistics guru! She knows her timelines in and out and can run a setup like a pro! I always ask for her advice on ways to refine my timelines and better organize my designs.
Marisa: She is always two steps ahead! Marisa can so gracefully navigate a million different things at once, all while having a smile on her face! She is so thoughtful and makes our couples, their guests, and vendors feel taken care of!
Alyssa: She is the ultimate hype gal! I love how she makes our couples get excited and supported throughout the day. She always makes sure there’s apps and cocktails saved and that their hair is picture perfect!
