5 Tips For Planning a Destination Wedding
You just got engaged and have been already daydreaming of your future destination wedding. Let’s be honest it can feel overwhelming to plan a wedding from a far, but we are here to give you some tips!
1. Pick a destination
Picking a destination is a really exciting moment in the planning process. When weighing your options think if there are any special locations that are significant to you and your partner. Maybe the first place you ever took a trip together? Or maybe you want to go to some place new? Keep in mind the location will set the tone for what the aesthetic will be on the day of. Lastly, be sure to allocate your travels in your budget.
2. Work with experienced vendors
When you are selecting your vendors be sure to do your research on them. Do they have good ratings? Are they experienced enough? It’s so important that you select vendors that are familiar and local with the location of your wedding because they are the foundation for a successful event. 3. Celebrate Local Culture
Celebrating local culture is a way you can honor and give back to the destination. Here in Hawaii our couples like to incorporate Hawaiian traditions by wearing leis, incorporating local dishes into their dinner menu, and hiring local entertainment.
4. Make a trip out of it
You’ve travelled a long way to celebrate your love why not make a trip out of it! This is a great way to thank your friends and family for being a part of your special day. They will be so excited to get the festivities going! Some ideas are to plan a welcome brunch or a welcome happy hour at a local restaurant.
5. Be Present
We will be the first to tell you the trip goes by so fast. Be sure to be present every day. Soak up all the little moments and the big ones with your friends and family. Your wedding destination will always have a special place in your heart and you will cherish these memories for a lifetime!
