The Essential List of Questions to Ask Before You Start Wedding Planning

1. How much money would we feel comfortable spending? vs. How much money can we actually spend?

This is probably one of the more important questions to have a clear idea of before you start the wedding planning process. Coming up with a budget that takes into account how much you have saved, how long you have to save, and anyone who has offered to help out is so important so that you have an expectation that your wedding planner can work with!

2. Do we envision a larger celebration or a more intimate one? vs. Who can we not imagine getting married without?

In reality, the number of guests you plan to have at your wedding is one of the key factors to creating a budget that makes sense. Before you dive in to create a guest list, think about what kind of evening you want. Do you like the idea of having an intimate wedding where you’ll have time to spend time with each guest, or do you just want to make sure that everyone is there for the celebration? We suggest starting off your guest list with the people who you couldn’t imagine the day without, and going from there!

3. What vendors would we love to have at our wedding? vs. What are the most important things to include in our wedding?

Weddings are comprised of a group of vendors who will make your wedding everything you want it to be, and more. Discuss what vendors you want to invest in (photographer, caterine, venue, etc.) and plan on allocating more of the budget towards those items.
