Local First: YIREH
Five years ago, For The Good Events had the honor of planning a beautiful wedding for this kind-hearted couple with an incredible love story! It just so happened that our bride happened to be Emily, the owner and design at YIREH. Her passion and grace radiated around her and she always made everyone feel valued and important. Her company and mission inspire us everyday and we are so honored to know her and her family! Keep reading to learn a little more about YIREH in their words:
We are passionate about changing the narrative of the industry and showcasing that fashion can be a positive force for change. Women are so strong and unique, our goal is to design clothing that reflects that. We truly believe that you make our clothing beautiful, and not the other way around. In our weekly newsletters and social media, we curate thoughtful content geared towards travel, inspired living, and overall wellness. We are here to encourage you on your path, whatever it may look like - but also to let you know that you’re already doing great.
Yireh is designed in Honolulu, Hawai’i and ethically produced in Bali, Indonesia. Here at YIREH we practice something called “slow fashion” and currently we partner with two female founded ethical factories that have safe conditions, pay their workers fair wages, and give benefits. We visit each factory as often as possible and have personal relationships with the artisans there. We also digitally print our fabrics using no water and non-toxic, eco-friendly dyes, leaving behind very little waste. If we do have left over fabric we use it to create our smaller products such as scrunchies, or pareos. Even our scrap fabrics are sold to micro-businesses around the factories we partner with and then repurposed. Giving back is ingrained in our companies culture and we donate to anti-trafficking organizations annually. Yireh believes that you don’t have to sacrifice your style for your values, that’s why we do our best to make sure you have peace of mind with every purchase.
