For The Good of All: 7 Charities to Share the Love With
There are so many groups close to our hearts that are striving towards creating a better future, each and every day–so if you ever want to give a feel-good gift, think about donating to these groups this holiday season.
Part of what makes us whole at For The Good is knowing that we are working towards making other people’s lives a little bit better through our time and passions. Another way to spread a little love, which we feel so deeply about, is taking the time to recognize and donate to charitable causes in our community and beyond, so that our love is felt in waves even further than we can imagine.
As a part of our seventh birthday celebration, we have made a small donation to these groups and want to give a little spotlight to the amazing work that they do, every single day.
Here are some local charities close to our hearts:
Hawaiian Humane Society
We couldn’t live without the unconditional love from our furry friends, and the Hawaiian Humane Society works every day towards protecting, rescuing, reuniting, and rehoming animals of all kinds throughout the islands.
YWCA
The YWCA supports 2500 women and girls through housing, economic self-sufficiency, professional development and health and wellness throughout the islands–and we can always stand behind supporting women’s dreams, health, and happiness!
MOMs on a Mission
Starting by a couple of moms passionate about sharing their knowledge with the local community, MOMs on a Mission strives to educate moms on healthier and safer choices in regards to fitness, diet, and preventative medicine, by introducing them to better alternatives and resources.
Hawaii Theatre
Supporting the arts, in all of its forms, is so important to us. The Hawaii Theatre has shared its cultural and educational experiences since 1922, and we think that its mere presence has brought a certain life and vibrancy to downtown Honolulu that we couldn’t fathom the area without.
KUPU
Dedicated to preserving the land and educating the youth, KUPU holds a special place in our hearts because of the positive impact it will inevitably have on the future of the ʻāina and the next generation.
Aloha Harvest
This charity takes quality food from restaurants, hotels, and other businesses that would otherwise be wasted, and delivers it to social service agencies that feed the hungry and homeless on Oʻahu.
Blood Bank of Hawaii
The Blood Bank of Hawaii has been making heroes out of everyday donors through its mobile units all over the island since 1941. We love that a simple act can be a lifesaving one to another person–so check their mobile schedule to make a (free!) donation of life.
